The Clairemont Boy’s Water Polo team took down Scripps Ranch Friday afternoon 9-5 at Miramar College, improving their record in the Eastern Conference to 4-1 on the season. The boy’s got rolling early and never looked back, flying out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. The built their lead as high as 7 in the third quarter, leading 9-2 before taking their foot off the gas in the fourth. Jake Stone and Derek Kagen were too much for Scripps to handle, putting up 5 and 3 goals respectively. The Chieftain’s defense was relentless all game, limiting the Falcons to 2 goals through the first two quarters and created 14 turnovers in the game. Senior goalie Jonah Stratton was outstanding, stopping 11 shots in total.
