The Junior Varsity team posts a 5-0 win after playing a complete game on Friday, January 4. CHS’s defense was stout, as Hoover had very few opportunities in front of the goal… and quickly turning their limited attacks into successful counter attacks.
CHS was equally strong in the midfield and dominant on offense as they were able to string passes together and create many scoring chances on the day.
Daniela Zazueta broke the ice in the 14th minute of play as she slotted a pass from Gabi Butters into the side netting. Ayden Sullivan struck a decisive half volley to make it 2-0 in the 30th minute off a pass from Bella Hartman.
During the 8th minute of the 2nd half, Bella once again slotted a wonderful pass to Dariana Conde who finished her shot to extend the lead to 3-0. Gabi Butters took a pass from Darian in the 22:00 minute and confidently fired her shot passed the Hoover goal keeper to make it 4-0. And to cap off the scoring, Daniela crossed a wonderful ball to Dariana who scored her second goal of the game in the 39:00 minute of play.
CHS looks forward to playing at HOME for their first league game of the season against Coronado at 3:30 on Wednesday, January 9.
